Vidović’s ‘’Cabinet of wonders’’
The collection of antique objects in Vidović’s atelier tells us about the painter’s love for the cultural heritage, about his deep sense of belonging to the spiritual land between Split and Trogir. In his ‘’cabinet of wonders’’ we can see tiny antique terracotta heads and jugs, vases from Salona, a yellowish cast of Eve from Radovan’s Portal (the main portal of the Cathedral of St. Lawrence in Trogir, carved by Master Radovan – a 13th century Croatian architect and sculptor), casts of Buvina’s Door (the wooden door of the Cathedral of Split made by the 13th-century sculptor and painter Andrija Buvina),
a gothic angel...
