Vidović’s veduta from the 1920s and 1930s
After the First World War Vidović completely deserted literary themes and forgot about all those mystical evening prayers, dead cities, melancholy and sphinxes, and stopped using strictly only the pointillism painting technique; he became increasingly concrete - orthogonal cube-like houses dive out of the darkness enlivening the composition with the rhythm of their planes and their watery reflections.
